Harimau Malaya meratah Garuda

Safe'e Sali meledakkan gol ketiga pasukan Malaysia

Semangat berpasukan membawa kejayaan.

Perjuangan baru separuh selesai. Malaysia Boleh!!!

Aston Villa 2 - Manchester United 2

Richard Dunne menghalang Chicarito

Perlawanan akhirnya berkesudahan 2-2.

Paul the Octopus dead, bookmakers relieved

The Late Paul the Octopus

The revelation of this year's World Cup in South Africa, Paul the Octopus has died at the grand old age of two. He came to stardom when he predicted all the results for this year's World Cup correctly.

"The Tentacled One" as he was later known was able to pick out winners and results that made bookmakers feeling a bit uneasy. It was reported that some bookmakers had even arranged some meetings to discuss about Paul.

There were even supposedly assassination attempts on Paul's life when it became apparent to bookmakers that he is an annoyance and threat to their business.

RIP Paul.

Football is back!!!

Football season is back!!

After a boring and forgetful plus most irritating World Cup, thanks to the Vuvuzelas (my team won anyways, Vamos Espana!), the football season is back. Each season when it ends, a part of my life seems incomplete, like a void or blackhole suddenly appears.

The new season would be a new adventure and also be a testing one for me because the need to juggle between being an attentive dad & husband and a hardcore Red Devil. So far, Kaisan has been watching the pre-season friendlies with me & I guess whenever I am needed to babysit, he wont mind watching some footy with his ayah.

This season WILL BE the season when Manchester United equals Liverpool's record for the most league titles won. Winning the Charity Shield and squashing Chelski on the way winning it was a bright start. Oldies like Giggsy and Scholesy are still there, Nani, Fletcher, Vidic, Rooney and Rio are starting to share the burden and Javier "Chicarito" Hernandez is an exciting prospect that will freshen up the team.
Manchester United Squad for 2010 - 2011 Season

Whatever it is, football is back and it could not be any sooner!

Saya sokong Sepanyol World Cup team...

Macam biasa. Aku menyokong team Sepanyol untuk World Cup 2010 South Africa. Kalau Malaysia layak World Cup (bila lah tu agaknya?), memang aku dah 100% sokong skuad negara, tapi disebabkan tak ada, aku pun sokong lah Sepanyol.

Kenapa Sepanyol? Aku sokong diorang sejak World 2006 (sebelum-sebelum ni tak follow mana-mana team pun) sebab permainan squad ni memang teknikal dan entertaining. Cuma sayang kali ni, Raul (Real Madrid) dah tak di panggil. Kuda tua tapi still legend.

So, itulah dia. Aku sokong Sepanyol (Spain) World Cup kali ini. Vamos Espana!!!

John Terry Out.....Rio Ferdinand In as Captain of England

Shame on you John Terry

Chelsea captain John Terry has been sacked as captain of England after a 12 minute discussion with England boss, Fabio Capello. Capello finally has come to his senses and put Rio Ferdinand as England captain. Capello might say something like this, "You quit or you swim with the fishes? Kapeesh?". Short & sweet.

John Terry was never worthy of the England captain's armband with all his off the field bad behaviours. This latest scandal follows other alleged bad news:
  • both parents involved in vice activities. Mommy is a thief & Daddy  is a drug lord.
  • John Terry himself gave a 10k Pound tour around Stamford Bridge to VIP guests. 150k Pounds a week isn't enough mate?? Greedy.
John Terry will lose out on 20 million Pounds as a result of him being stripped of the captaincy. That is a really damn big amount to lose for just a piece of French tail. Stupid Chelsea player.

Rio in the line of fire as new England captain

Whatever it is Rio Ferdinand (a Manchester United great, yeah I am an MU fan..glory glory!!!) is rightfully selected as England captain. An England captain that other England players can respect. Good luck Rio!

P/s: The England football captain position is really a big soap drama in its own right, dont you think?

Malaysia juara Sukan SEA selepas 20 tahun menunggu

Isteri: Alaa...takyah tgklah awak. Kalau ramai-ramai tengok mesti Malaysia kalah.

Aku: Mana ada camtu..ishh..apsal mamat depan nih slow sangat?

Isteri: Bola tu tetap bulat lah awak..tak payah lah rushing...

Sampai rumah..on tv....baru half time. Score 0 - 0. Fuhh. Still ok nih. Ada chance nih. Sempat buat air and amik kerepek dari tin Milo besar kat dapur tu.

2nd half start. Malaysia buat serangan pertama. Sikit lagi. Sayang, seribu kali sayang (bak kata Hj Hasbullah Awang). GOAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!
Jaringan dari Safiq Rahim pada minit ke 85. Malaysia 1 - Vietnam 0.

5 minit je lagi. Bertahan!! Vietnam humban semua ke arah gol Malaysia. Minit 90. 4th official angkat time board.....6 minit masa tambahan???!!!! WTF!!?!? Apa kau ingat ni macam Man Utd lwn Man City ke??

Tapi aku amik ini sebagai tanda baik sebab Man Utd menang selepas 6 minit tu..Glory Glory!! (sempat lagi tu). Pemain-pemain Malaysia pulak cuba bersungguh2 utk membuat semua rakyat Malaysia sakit jantung dgn membuang bola. Peganglah bola tu. Bukan dengan tangan tapi jgnlah sepak merata-rata.

Priit priiit prriiiiiiitttt!!!

Syabas Malaysia! Malaysia Boleh!!.... Akhirnya.

Malaysia Boleh!!!! We are in the SEA Games Football final

We beat the host team 3 - 1 in the final. K.Rajagopal's boys played a hard fought match against a solid Laotian team who were backed by almost a full capacity stadium.

The last time Malaysia played in the final was in 2001 when the games were held in Kuala Lumpur and last won the football gold in 1989 also in Kuala Lumpur when the national team was under the guidance of Trevor Hartley.

Malaysia's goals were scored by Baddrol Bakhtiar who scored twice in the 14th and 79th minute. Safiq Rahim scored the final goal in the 85th minute.

Our boys will meet the Vietnam team that had beaten Malaysia in the group stages.

Come on boys! Bring back the goal. Malaysia Boleh!!!!

Lionel Messi honoured to receive Ballon d'Or 2009 Award

Argentina and Barcelona superstar was awarded the Ballon d'Or for 2009 taking over from last year's winner Portuguese ace Cristiano Ronaldo. He won 473 of the 480 of the votes to win the award from France Football Magazine. The award is done through voting among the world's top football journalists.

He has taken up all top 3 places since debuted at No 3 in 2007, 2nd in 2008 and now being voted the best player in Europe. He mentioned that this was an honour and then wishes that the Albiceste (Argentina National team) plays the similar style as the Blaugrana (Barca) and that Argentina legend and current coach, Diego Armando Maradona is his only football idol.

2008 Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo

Second place was won by Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi's Barcelona teammate, Xavi Hernandes took third.

Messi is the favourite to win the FIFA's World Player of The Year award but he is not in the running for NATS Players' Choice Best Player of The Year award. The NATS award is the most prestigious award that can be won by any footballer.

The NATS Players' Choice Best Player of The Year award is awarded through voting among NATS members and they cannot vote for themselves. That is why it the second most prestigious award after the World Cup.

United close the gap to Chelsea with win over Pompey

Wazza wheeling off to celebrate his second goal

A Wayne Rooney hat-trick and a peach of a free kick from Giggsy capped off a solid performance by Manchester United in their chase to close the gap with Chelsea. Portsmouth scored their goal from the penalty spot from Kevin Prince Boateng after a dodgy decision by the linesman. United won the match 4 - 1 on Avram Grant's 1st game in charge at Fratton Park.

Giggsy celebrating his 100th EPL goal and Utd's 4th with hattrick hero Wazza

Giggsy was the man of the match in my eyes as he constantly terrorised the Pompey defence and it was a fitting birthday present for the United legend who will celebrate his 36th birthday today.

Bullard's Celebration of The Season

Bullard re-enacting Phil Brown's half time on the pitch team talk

Also, the celebration from Jimmy Bullard was the best goal celebration by far this season. He mocked the telling off done by his manager at Hull, Phil Brown at the same fixture last year.

15 minutes That Shooked the World

Seeing how Liverpool FC (my fav club arch rivals) were dumped out of the UEFA Champions League at the group stages last night, I wondered how ever did Rafa Benitez pulled off that stunning win in the same competition final in Istanbul four years ago.

Liverpool were playing against the mighty Italian side AC Milan and trailing 3 - 0 at halftime. They went on to level the game and won the Champions League in Istanbul after a penalty shoot out.

Now, I just found what went on in the dressing room during half time. It was dubbed as ......
"15 minutes that Shooked The World"

Tune Talk Futsal: The Rematch

Tune Talk Old Farts 16
Young Tuners 10

The rematch was on right after last week's loss. The talk for the whole week among the old farts was how we would shut out the young Tuners and the sweet taste of victory that we will have after this rematch.

This time we had a secret weapon that was not available during our 1st match, that was Jason Lo aka J Lo, who is our boss at Tune Talk. He was itching to get even with the young Tuners. He went a bit bonkers when we told him we lost the first game and initially wanted the game to be played on Friday the same week.

J Lo loosening up before kick off

The kids were giving me stick the whole week. Ribbings like, "How does it feel to lose?" ,"How old do you feel?" and the best one "Abang, are you ready to lose again on Monday?" from the kids just G'd me up more for the match.

Matchday came on Monday. I got in the morning but I still went to work just to get to play in the match. That was how bersemangat I was. When I got to the office, the guys were already noticing that I was sick and told me to go back and rest. Jason saw me & said to me, "see the doc, sleep it off and then come back for the game". Boy, was I glad to hear that cos' I couldn't even keep my eyes open. So, I went back and got some shut eye.

The match came around. The smack talk and stare downs mean nothing now. It was a now to do the talking on the pitch. I got a bit well but not totally. Just enough to get to the pitch.

Me doing the sumo-stretch during the warm up.....

Early on, the old farts started to stamp their authority on the match. The young Tuners were just being bounced all over the place. It was not a surprise to see the old farts taking a sizeable lead at 7 - 3 after half an hour of play. Jason, Edmond, Ari and Dennis were the top performers for the team.

"That guy at the other court looks cute huh Veron", says Annie.

Then a few changes among the Old Farts team gave the young Tuners the chance to get back into the game and it was 10-9 at one point.

The heat of the game got a bit too much for the young Tuners Captain Marvel, Darren as he got a bit annoyed with some of his team mates. This was just where we wanted them. Under pressure and bikering among themselves. Easy meat.

"Get your bums moving, you old timers you", says Jason".

Ari & Edmond were terrorising the young Tuner's defence and Dennis was keeping tight at the back by marking Darrent closely. Alfie and Jason Ramesh were stopping everything that were thrown to them.

Nasron, Kharil, SK, Adie and I took turns with the 1st five whenever they needed to get some air.

Then, the old farts got a second wind (some of it came out the other end, if you know what I mean) and we scored a few more goals and made the final score 16 - 10. Game over.

At the end, the victory was ours. It was sweet. The young Tuners played well but they knew they had come up against a solid and eager TT Old Farts team.

A 3rd deciding game is surely on the cards (set for another 2 weeks time as this is being written) to finally decide who is the best team in Tune Talk. Bring em' on!

The TT Old Farts Team: Jason Ramesh, Alfie, Edmond, Jason Lo, SK, Nasron, Adie, Bo, Ari and Dennis.

Preview : Man Utd vs Everton @ Old Trafford

ESPN (ASTRO CH 812 @ 1.25 am, Sunday Morning)
After 2 boring weeks of no-BPL action and not willing to wake up 3 or 4 oclock in the morning to watch a game only decided by a handball (i always knew Henry was a no good fella, he was a Gooner anyways), the BPL is back.

After suffering a harsh defeat to Chelsea before the international break, United will get a chance to bounce back against the blue side of Merseyside, Everton. United will head into this game knowing that Everton have only won once in 28 premier league games which was in the 2005/2006 season when Duncan Ferguson (this guy is now fat and a beer drinker, that's how long its been).

United Team News
SAF's touchline ban will only start on 28 Nov and will be on the patrolling the touchline as usual. United seek to reduce Chelsea's 5 point lead after this game.
Johnny Evans will partner Vidic in the absence of Ferdinand who is out until the New Year. Owen Hargreaves will might be on the bench as he seek to recover from his injury nightmare.

Possible Starting 11: Van der Sar, Evra, Vidic, Evans, O'Shea, Nani, Carrick, Anderson, Valencia, Rooney & Berbatov

Player to watch: Wayne Rooney
After starting the season in a blaze, Wazza have only hit the net once in 9 games for club and country. He will be hoping to get back on the goal trail against his boyhood team. United can score his 1st hat trick of the season in this game.

Rooney says, "Utd are No 1, you scousers"

Everton Team News
Russian international Diniyar Bilyatedinov will be out as he is serving the 2nd match of his 3 match ban. Tim Cahill is a slight doubt who is currently suffering a groin strain. The match also comes to early for midfield trio Osman, Phil Neville and Pienaar who will miss the match.

Possible Starting 11: Howard, Baines, Yobo, Distin, Neil, Chill, Feillani, Rodwell, Heitinga, Gosling & Saha.

Player to watch: Louis Saha
Former United hitman has score 7 in 8 starts for the Toffees and will be wanting to put one over his ex employers. But I personally think he wont as he is made of glass and will get injured when tying up his boots in the locker room before the game. No worries for United.

Bo's Prediction: United Win. 3 - 1.
Glory Glory Man Utd!!!

Tune Talk Futsal Team

It was called the Match of The Titans. The Golden Oldies Versus The Young Upstarts.

The match came about after the Upstarts team asked for a futsal match with the Golden Oldies. Never backing out of a challenge, the Golden Oldies accepted the challenge and set Monday, 5:30 pm as the date and time of the match of gigantic propotions. The venue was Sportcity Section 13 PJ.
The day of reckoning arrived. The buzz througout the Tune Talk office was only on the match and also whether the area where Annie and Nas sat was Perv-ville, where all the pervs of the office stay. It was decided, yes, it is indeed Perv-ville and Edmond is the Mayor of Perv-ville.

Back to the match. Everyone got ready and were raring to go. The first 5 of the Golden Oldies were Alfie, Dennis, Edmond, Lee and Bo. The match was back and forth. Each team cancelling out each other. Becoming an interesting match. Along the way, a few of the Golden Oldies fell off to the side, badly. Their wind knocked out of them. The Young Upstarts meanwhile were fresh like daisies.

The final 5 from the Golden Oldies that were left were Bo, Edmond, SK, Alfie and Lee. Gallantly putting everything into winning the match but with only 5 minutes remaining with the score tied at 7-7, the Young Upstarts scored the decisive goal to win the match and make it 8-7.

A rematch is almost on the cards as the Golden Oldies will be there. and ready to do some ass kicking (literally). The question is, are the Young Upstarts ready?

P/s: Special note to all the players that poured their hearts and guts in ensuring we did not get trashed:
Adie, Alfie, Arie, Khairil, Edmond, SK, Lee, Nas, Jason Ramesh, Bo & Dennis.

The best team won...and it was not Chelsea

Chelsea..........1 Man Utd........0

Injustice was done yesterday at Stamford Bridge when Manchester United bowed to a header from John Tery. It was again a refereeing blunder, a horrendous mistake from Mr Martin Atkinson, the ref of the match.

The foul awarded for the free kick that resulted to the Chelsea winner was wrongly awarded. Darren Fletcher clearly won the ball.... CLEANLY!!!. Fletch did NOT touch Ashley Cole.

The referee's (Mr Martin Atkinson) position for the free kick was also poor. He had a Chelsea player namely oe Cole in front of him and could not see Drogba pulling Wes Brown down when Wes could have cleared the ball before it reached Terry's head.

I personally was embarassed and couldnt contain myself with the poor showing in our loss to Liverpool at Anfield two weeks ago but in yesterday's defeat to Chelsea, United can take a whole lot of positives from this match. This attacking prowess of the United of old was done without Ferdinand, Vidic, Park ji Sung & Berbatov. Without Berbatov in the line-up, somehow the ball and chain had been taken off from each of United's player's ankles. It was not a conventional 4-4-2 but a rather an effective 4-2-3-1 with Rooney playing the lone striker. The order of the day from this United side was pace, speed, pace and did I mentioned more pace.
Throughout the pitch United were better. Antonio Valencia is now starting to justify his rather large price tag, attacked Ashley Cole with pace. Evra rang rings around Ivanovic and turned him inside out. Wes Brown & Johnny Evans reduced in-form Drogba to an old's lady blouse, big & ragged. Carrick, Giggsy, Anderson & Fergie's big game player Fletcher made Chelsea's diamond midfield almost non-existent.

All over the pitch the best players were wearing United's red.

However, in the end Chelsea are now 5 points in front of the reigning champions but with the display shown by the Red Devils in this unjustified defeat will surely rejuvenate the champions' season.

Glory Glory Man Utd!!!
