Sensasi......Couples News....

Retak......

The One at Shahrul & Surini's Babyshower

Babyshowers. The first thing that comes to mind is a group of moms and girlfriends getting together, exchanging stories, gossiping, having tea and crumpets (kat M'sia ada ke crumpets?) and exchanging gifts.

So, last Sunday, Shahrul had a babyshower for his expecting wife (due in 2 weeks) Surini. All the Shah Alam clan and other suspects converge at Shahrul's for this babyshower.

But I have a fishy feeling that it was just an excuse for our latest craze....CRANIUM!!! Jazdee didnt want me to team up with him for a silly reason.....because I have a blog. That's weak bro..weak.....hehehe.
When I told him that Zul also has a blog, he said "Zul punya lain, intellectual punya blog.."..then we laughed...wakakaka....

Well, boisanerd was grouped with Shahrul, Lukman, adik iya and Su. No prizes on guessing who were the champs...hehehe....

The whole babyshower affair was fun and it was a good excuse for the guys and gals to hang out, catchup and be closer aka merapatkan silaturrahim...

Last note, wishing and praying for the safe arrival of Shahrul's and Surini's princess and also for Surini's having her delivery safe and smoothly.

Watchmen : An Intriguing Artwork

Never have I seen as many people walk out of a movie as I saw during a Saturday showing of “Watchmen.”
The dude that sat beside me I think slept halfway the movie (well..I heard him snoring). A couple in front of me kept asking each other whats going on, who is who and whether to walk out and why is that man blue and was this scene happening now or did these events happen in the past and, holy crap, why are we now on Mars; eventually, they gave up and laughed their way through the exit doors. (And they were not shooshed.)

My fiancee, shifted uncomfortably with every splatter of brain; she sank lower into her seat at the arrival of a nude Dr. Manhattan’s fully exposed Little Dr. Manhattan then insists (really insists) that we haul our asses out of cinema 7 rightly after the fairly explicit sex between Night Owl and Silk Spectre in the back of the Owl Mobile – or whatever it’s called. (The movie is rated 18SX.)

It’s hard to say exactly when the trickle became an exodus – but maybe a quarter of the theater walked.
Indeed, it appears this phenomenon is not unique to our showing at One Utama, but also other cinemas in Klang Valley.
I just felt that it was a just waste of a perfect Saturday evening..and also 20 bucks...down the drain I tell you....shiisshh
But, I think I wont mind taking another showing of the movie, but this time I should go alone. It is indeed an intriguing movie. Your mind is active from start til end.

So did you notice an unusual number of walkouts at your screening? Or was the audience riveted? Howling in laughter? Snickering? Or stone silent and still, wrapped up in the story? Let me know.

Kari Kepala Ikan Kampung Attap

This is one of the most talked about fish curry head @ kari kepala ikan places in KL. It is located smack right in the middle of metropolitan KL at Jalan Kampung Attap, under a few trees next to its original restaurant.

Seeing the crowd there, you know you're in the right place to satisfy your kari kepala ikan cravings.
Parking spots would be limited but when you got the munchies for good curry head fish, a man will do what a men gotta do. Trust me.

There were 9 of us. We started ordering the usual....drinks (my personal fav teh o ais limau @ ice lemon tea), white rice, honey fried chicken, chili bawang, squid curry and finally 2 curry head fish. Yup....2 heads!!!

While waiting for the food to come, I had a starter. Yep, these kinda places also have starters.

Starter...

Then, the food started coming,

Here is a close up of the fish head before it being devoured by 9 hungry guys,

Second head,
The squid curry is also a must have. I recommend it. Alang2 nak makan kepala ikan.

Squid curry

The other food compliments the fish head & squid curry very well.
Cili Bawang @ Green Chilies and Onions Mix

Cili bawang. Its mixture of green chillies, onions, soy sauce and lime. It makes the experience more enjoyable.

Ayam Goreng Madu @ Honey Fried Chicken

Finally, whats left of the curry head,

You dont need to go for the "makan berhidang" style like we did, you can choose to have it the
nasi campur style.
Whatever style you want to have it, you'll be promised a lasting dining experience.

Another thing to add, toss away the spoon and fork. Go in with both hands. More kick to it. Believe me. But just be prepared having your hands smelling of curry for the next couple of days. I take it as a momento of a wonderful dining experience. Hmm...nice.

The price if you're having the curry fish head would be a little expensive. But RM 25 (approx.) for 2 persons serving I think is reasonable.

Give it a shot and lemme know you're own experience.

The Last Evacuation Drill....

In a large multinational company..............

A fire alarm rang at 4 PM in a large office when almost all employees were in office (approx 5000). As usual the entire office was evacuated within 3 mins & all employees gathered outside the office in the designated area waiting for further announcement.

"The good news is, the building is not on fire..."

The Security Officer in charge made the following announcement:

"Dear employees - with sincere regret I have been asked to announce that for many of you it will be your last evacuation drill. Due to the recession the company is laying off almost 50% of its employees. So when this announcement finishes, I ask all of you to move back into the building and if your swipe card does not work then it means you have been laid off in which case you will not be allowed inside and all your belongings will be couriered to you by tomorrow".

"The Company has used this innovative approach as we didn't want to fill up the email box with lay-off mails and good bye mails in thousands & also to avoid any fight inside the office and the consequent security issue for all staff".

"Hope you have had a rewarding career with us and all the best ahead".

"Please move back in & try your luck".

Terjah...gossip...... gossip...

Semalam di Solaris Mont Kiara, boisanerd terserempak dgn pasangan sensasi Qariena & Zareef keluar berdua-duaan. Mereka kelihatan mesra walaupun semasa gambar di ambil, kelihatan pihak lelaki agak keletihan.
Mereka kelihatan berjalan ke arah ice cream parlour Haagen Dazs.

Budding love

The one when we had Shahrul's Birthday lunch at Ole' Ole' Bali

Yesterday the Shah Alam clan got together and celebrated Shahrul's birthday, albeit a belated one. Better late than never bro..Happy Birthday!!

Got to use the GPS on my new E71..chewah...got there on time w/out facing the usual jam... Yg pelik sikit tu, suara GPS tu selalunya perempuan tapi this time lak pulak...oohh..Amru rupanya...

The usual suspects were the b'day boy Shahrul, Surini (the glowing mum to be), boisanerd (bo), Wafi, Amrufm, Zul & Maz plus Zareef and baby Zara, Suraya with her girls Qariena & Qamilia, Faizal & Mas.

The venue was Ole' Ole' Bali at Solaris Mont Kiara (near Hartamas, dekat2 Haji Don). A new place for the clan but surely we will come again. The price is a lil' bit expensive something like Chili's or TGIF, but let me assure you, its worth it.

Replicating the Balinese food and surroundings, it is very cosy and chill especially after a long week. I had the Siap Mepanggang which was BBQ roasted chicken with yellow rice and mixed veggies. To wash down the food, I had the Ice Blended Pulut Itam which is a first for me.

Next time around, I will get the Ole' Ole Bali Trio which would be more ideal for a two-prong attack, Azhani & me.

The quietness of Ole' Ole' was broken by our chatter but hell, thats how we roll. The kiddies enjoyed themselves especially Zareef & Qariena. Little Zara and Qamilia enjoyed watching their older siblings.

Well, I'll let the pictures do the talking...

I finally got one.....THE NOKIA E71

Woohooo!!! I finally got myself THE phone..the Nokia E71.

For those who follow my mind dump, I did begged & ranted for someone to get me one. But as usual, nobody listens to me. Click here "E71" to know what the heck I'm talking about.

Well its really a gift to myself for passing my ACCA exam. Seeing nobody really wanted to celebrate my results, so I thought to treat myself to a brand new toy. I deserve it anyways.
So, back off!!

It comes with the usual stuff. WIFI, 3.2 megapixel camera, video, MP3 player bla bla bla. But one thing that makes my E71 different from the rest is the GPS software 5.0 from Garmin. This wonderful software was installed by the phone taukey & quoting him "boleh pakai sampai mati boss". No need to depend on your network provider.

The GPS is making Rozy, a friend from work, turn green with envy. Nasib baik tak jadi Incredible Hulk. Gurau aje Rozy...hehehe. It shows all the nearby food places, gas pumps, entertaintment, even the nearest mamak place and a lots of other stuff thats just crazy.

Maybe you guys reading this might say, "well, its just a phone" or "kecoh siut pasal phone dia". I just wanna say I dont give a rats a%* to what you guys think. I know jealousy when I see it...yeah!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Brad Pitt comes along with his best work yet, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. After catching this movie, no wonder its up for 13 Ocar nominations.

Directed by David Fincher it is based loosely on F. Scott Fitzgerald book, telling the tale of Benjamin born in 1918 in New Orleans. It's hard to tell you the details of this movie as it would be a travesty to ruin the beauty of the story.

Basically, Benjamin ages backwards, getting younger as those around him get older. His globe trotting adventures in the movie somehow intersects with those he know and love. Along his backwards aging, he goes through the ups and downs of life as we know it.

As the movie goes along, you can identify several history landmarks. The Titanic, the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the mayhem of The Beatles are a few.

Notable mentions of the cast are Taraji P. Henson (Queenie) Benjamin's adopted mother, and Daisy Cate Blanchett (Daisy), Benjamin's sweetheart.

Athough, the movie was not adapted totally from the novel drama written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, it still keeps the elements and imagination as its core.

This is a must catch movie but be prepared for the 2hr 45mins showing. My advice is load up on the popcorn, drinks and maybe have a jacket handy.

Another thing to take note, meant especially for the brothers. Be prepared for the annoying gushing and later on ridiculous requests like "why can't you be handsome and yummy like Brad?" or " He is so handome, why can't you look like him?" from girlfriends or partners. Shiieesshh..well the only thing that I said to my fiancee' "take it or leave it, sayang". With that she was left speechless.

The New Cutie at MRSMKT....

Last week, my youngest bro, Syauqi went to his new home away from home, MRSM Kuala Terengganu. Our great parents went with him to get him settled in. They took the bus for ..wait for it.. an 8 hour journey from Shah Alam to KT....8 hours!! Damn!! That's dedication for you.

Getting back to Syauqi. He didn't take long to get settled in.

Ibu told us that a few girls asked her, "Makcik, itu anak makcik ke?"

Ibu said,"Iye, itu anak makcik".

Then the girls started to giggle and ibu overheard them saying "cute juga".

Well, for Kimi, Mizi and myself, that's not really breaking news.
Like ibu always say, "anak2 ibu memang hensem" hehehe...

Well, we know Syauqi is destined for many great things and even though we miss having him around, we know he'll do us proud.
