My New Toy : Canon IXUS 100 IS
Just got this new toy. Its the new Canon IXUS 100 IS.
Yeah, its only a compact digital camera and not one of those DSLR bulky cameras, which I will eventually own of these days.
Its the 1st slim camera by Canon and that is what I like most cos' you dont need to lug a bag around. It can fit in your jeans pockets and snap whatever you want at a whim.
Usually these types of cameras don't have a good video option but this one comes with HD (high definition). Refer to the footage below taken for NATS.
Well, I love it. I went for the red version, paying homage to the best team on the planet, Manchester United .
After this, my blogs will be littered with photos and videos..Woohhoo...I like.

Movie Review: He's Just Not That Into You
Again, this week I followed Ms. Azhani's craving for this movie. I was a bit curious but you know, whateva makes her happy..hehehe.
The cast is star studded and I was anticipating something like "Love Actually" starring Hugh Grant, Keira Knightly, Emma Thompson.
Well, this one was a bit disappointing. It was a 2 hour soap opera trying to show who was sleeping with whom, BIG mistakes are forgiven as long as there are no small mistakes. Jokes were lame, story line falling a little bit short of snoozeville and I felt the cast were not challenged enough and their talents wasted.
I went to watch this one mainly due to Scarlett Johansson & Ginnifer Goodwin being in it. At least I can drool throughout the movie..hehehe...
Overall, the cast were there but the story line wasn't.
There was a mantra that was repeatedly mentioned in the movie, " are you the exception, or are you the rule?".
In this case, this was an exception. What a pitty.
Film: He's Just not That Into You (Love Drama)
Cast: Ben Affleck, Jannifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore,
Jennifer Conolly, Kevin Conolly, Bradley Cooper,
Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson & Justin Long
Direction: Ken Kwapis
Duration: 2 Hours 10 Mins
Ratings: 2.5 out of 5 Rotten Cempedaks

Goodbye Shell
17th April 2009.....The day I left Shell Shared Service Centre - Kuala Lumpur (SSSCKL). It was the place I "mencari sesuap nasi" for the past 3 years.
Lotsa ups and down. The good and the bad, many bittersweet moments have been experienced during my brief stay there. I put it as a brief stay as I targeted to at least to reach a certain position before I leave. But it was not to be.
I wont miss the work. I wont be missing my team. Hell no to the SSSC management. But the friends and camaraderie is the one thing that Iwill miss most.
Well, friendships will always be there. So, no worries there. There is only one way to go for friendships and bonds that were created. That is stronger and closer.

Movie Review: Yes Man
This movie was basically shoved into my DVD player by Shahrul, who REALLY wanted me to watch this movie. Supposedly this movie reminds him of me.
The guys (Shahrul & Zul especially) always say that whenever there is a get together or teh tarik session I would give a lame excuse to not come along. Thats way off base guys. Mana ada doh. Aku selalu pergi apa kalau ada apa2. Kekadang aje aku takleh pergi. Cam ikan emas aku nak beranak ke... rumah aku takde orang nak jaga... tunggu parents aku balik dgn kereta aku...hehehe. Those excuses are legit.
Back to the movie.
Back to the movie.
Its a movie about Carl Allen who says no to almost everything especially when his friend's want to hang out.
Everything changed when he signed up to a self-help programme based on one-simple rule: say yes to everything and anything.
At first, positive changes and events happen. Which made Carl more determine to go deeper into this YES! program. But he soon discovers that there are drawbacks of opening up to new possibilities.
The movie is a typical Jim Carrey movie. It reminds me a bit of Liar,Liar. Another one of his movies. It has its usual slapstick and witty comedy and jokes. A good watch. Seeing that the guys wanted me to watch this movie added to my curiosity.
I just got one thing to say to Shahrul & Zul. Aku bukan
macam Carl lah..damn!!

"Bo" is the new top dog in town
Today during lunch I was greeted by "woof, woof" , or "here doggy, doggy" by the guys. Me being a bit blur (maybe due to the monday blues), just laughed along without knowing whats happening. Then, one of the guys passed me the daily "The Sun" paper.
Shaite !! The Obama family dog aka The 1st Dog was named "Bo". Bo!! The reasoning behind that name was because the first lady's dad was called Didley in reference to "Bo" Didley. But to me that reason is lame. You got a whole universe of names to select from and the best you can come up is Bo? Don't get me wrong. Bo is a marvellous name. Strong, powerful yet just right for all the right reasons.
"Bo" was apparently a gift from Sen. Edward M. Kennedy who himself owns a few Portuguese Water dogs or Labradoodle.
Obama kept his campaign promise to his two daughters Malia & Sasha that they will get a puppy when he wins the election.
Well, I can take solace from this new story that after this "Bo" will be known as the top dog for years to come..hehe
The muffler is a bit too much dont you think?

Movie Review: Fast & Furious 4 (New Model Original Parts)
The Fast and Furious franchise vrooms onto the our cinemas again, after having vroomed off after a sub-standard Fast & Furious 3; Tokyo Drift installation.
The original king of the streets, Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel), who created a cult following from the first The Fast and Furious. Vin turned his back on the next 2 installments (2Fast 2Furious and Tokyo Drift). The franchise lost its zing and Torreto was never be heard again. So, naturally, the two had to get together again and create grease lightnin' once more.
But Dom doesn't return alone. In comes his nemesis too, FBI agent Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) who infiltrated ex-con Dom's gang in the first film, only to betray him and his sister (Jordana Brewster). But Brian and Dom do share a special bond, despite being on opposite sides of the law. Remember how Brian let Dom go in the first film. It's the same love-hate relationship that forms the crux of the fourth sequel, where both are in for a roller-coaster ride that sees them criss-crossing across unfriendly terrain in their shining machines.

While Dom wants to avenge the death of his girl friend (Michelle Roderiguez), Brian is in hot pursuit of a drug lord, Antonio Braga, who smuggles car loads of heroin across the Mexican border under the guise of street car racing.
At the start of the film, you would notice that Hahn from the The Tokyo Drift chapter would make an appearance. For those who still remember, he burned and died in Tokyo. So, I leave it to you guys to think about it. Did he really came back from the grave?

While my vote would still stand for the first film, the fourth is definitely better than part two and three. Its been awhile a movie really revved me up and also get me thinking of modifying my all standard cruiser. But beyond the horsepower, there is the enigmatic characterisation of Vin Diesel as the good-bad Dom, who keeps you guessing about his ethics till the very end. Get your testosterone kick.

I got a new job......FINALLY!!!
Finally, my hunt for a new job came to an end 2 days ago. I am gonna leave a certain MNC that helps us in polluting mother earth and uses something that we can find on the beach as its logo.
My new paymaster is a new company associated with a certain local no frills airline. They are just getting their feet wet in the cellular industry. For me personally, it is a fresh start and an opportunity to gain experience and marketable skills. The pay is okay to. Mind you that I am getting married in July. This year!
Back to the day of my interview. It was kinda funny though. A whole string of mishaps on that day dumbfounded me a bit. Yet I got the job. Alhamdulillah.
It started off with me going to the wrong building. Mind you that I was using my GPS from my phone in finding this place, yet I got lost. Doofus. Yup. Me = Doofus.
Then, by the time I realised I made that boo-boo, it was already 10 minutes before the interview. I was running back to my car.
Now. I am sweating from the running. Kesah habis (KEtiak baSAH = kesah)
I was now speeding to the place. Then, I realised that the building was only besides the futsal place the guys from office play at every friday. In that instant, I now dont have an excuse of not joining my soon to be ex officemates for FridayFutsal sessions. Nevermind. I got an interview to go to.
I arrived at the place. Now 15 minutes late.
I was buzzed in. Given a perli baik punya by the HR guy "ingatkan tak datang tadi", he said. I shrugged it off and just gave a half hearted smile.
Well, after filling in the usual forms for interviews, the interview started.
The panel that were there to grill me was the CFO and the HR guy. But, surprise surprise. The CEO of the company conveniently just stepped in and joined in the session. Damn.
The interview lasted for about an hour and then as usual it ended with "we'll call you in a couple of days".
I thought I blew my chance. I was late + sweating + nervous = disaster interview.
Then, when I came back to my car, the futsal place owners stuck a big "NO PARKING, PRIVATE PROPERTY" sticker on my car's windscreen. It was stuck there real good. I tried to get most of it off, but no use. What to do. I drove off.
Then a call came in. "Affendi, we are hiring you. Come and get your offer letter tomorrow." I remembered just replying, "thank you".
I was grinning like a fool the whole journey back...hehehe..
