Just got this new toy. Its the new Canon IXUS 100 IS.
Yeah, its only a compact digital camera and not one of those DSLR bulky cameras, which I will eventually own of these days.
Its the 1st slim camera by Canon and that is what I like most cos' you dont need to lug a bag around. It can fit in your jeans pockets and snap whatever you want at a whim.
Usually these types of cameras don't have a good video option but this one comes with HD (high definition). Refer to the footage below taken for NATS.
Well, I love it. I went for the red version, paying homage to the best team on the planet, Manchester United .
After this, my blogs will be littered with photos and videos..Woohhoo...I like.
Again, this week I followed Ms. Azhani's craving for this movie. I was a bit curious but you know, whateva makes her happy..hehehe.
The cast is star studded and I was anticipating something like "Love Actually" starring Hugh Grant, Keira Knightly, Emma Thompson.
Well, this one was a bit disappointing. It was a 2 hour soap opera trying to show who was sleeping with whom, BIG mistakes are forgiven as long as there are no small mistakes. Jokes were lame, story line falling a little bit short of snoozeville and I felt the cast were not challenged enough and their talents wasted.
I went to watch this one mainly due to Scarlett Johansson & Ginnifer Goodwin being in it. At least I can drool throughout the movie..hehehe...
Overall, the cast were there but the story line wasn't.
There was a mantra that was repeatedly mentioned in the movie, " are you the exception, or are you the rule?".
In this case, this was an exception. What a pitty.
Film: He's Just not That Into You (Love Drama)
Cast: Ben Affleck, Jannifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore,
Jennifer Conolly, Kevin Conolly, Bradley Cooper,

17th April 2009.....The day I left Shell Shared Service Centre - Kuala Lumpur (SSSCKL). It was the place I "mencari sesuap nasi" for the past 3 years.
Lotsa ups and down. The good and the bad, many bittersweet moments have been experienced during my brief stay there. I put it as a brief stay as I targeted to at least to reach a certain position before I leave. But it was not to be.
I wont miss the work. I wont be missing my team. Hell no to the SSSC management. But the friends and camaraderie is the one thing that Iwill miss most.
Well, friendships will always be there. So, no worries there. There is only one way to go for friendships and bonds that were created. That is stronger and closer.
A small note to my friends:
The Uollz - keep on doing what you do.Being great. Stay happy and energetic. Thanks a lot for the farewell dinner that you had for me. Really touched by the gesture except for the karaoke part..hehe..
Friday Futsal team - we will always have the friday futsal sessions. Especially due to my office being next to our home ground. Your friendships is much cherished and I have learnt a lot from you guys.
Other SSSC friends - those that knew me and who I did not had the opportunity to say goodbye, I beg for your forgiveness for any mistakes or shortcomings. All the best and insya'Allah our paths will cross again.
Please keep in touch boys and girls. Im available at fendi_bo@yahoo.com, affendij@gmail.com.

This movie was basically shoved into my DVD player by Shahrul, who REALLY wanted me to watch this movie. Supposedly this movie reminds him of me.
The guys (Shahrul & Zul especially) always say that whenever there is a get together or teh tarik session I would give a lame excuse to not come along. Thats way off base guys. Mana ada doh. Aku selalu pergi apa kalau ada apa2. Kekadang aje aku takleh pergi. Cam ikan emas aku nak beranak ke... rumah aku takde orang nak jaga... tunggu parents aku balik dgn kereta aku...hehehe. Those excuses are legit.
Back to the movie.
Its a movie about Carl Allen who says no to almost everything especially when his friend's want to hang out.
Everything changed when he signed up to a self-help programme based on one-simple rule: say yes to everything and anything.
At first, positive changes and events happen. Which made Carl more determine to go deeper into this YES! program. But he soon discovers that there are drawbacks of opening up to new possibilities.
The movie is a typical Jim Carrey movie. It reminds me a bit of Liar,Liar. Another one of his movies. It has its usual slapstick and witty comedy and jokes. A good watch. Seeing that the guys wanted me to watch this movie added to my curiosity.
I just got one thing to say to Shahrul & Zul. Aku bukan
macam Carl lah..damn!!
Film: Yes Man (Comedy)
Cast: Jim Carrey, Zooey Dischanel, Danny Masterson, Bradley Cooper & John Michael Higgins
Today during lunch I was greeted by "woof, woof" , or "here doggy, doggy" by the guys. Me being a bit blur (maybe due to the monday blues), just laughed along without knowing whats happening. Then, one of the guys passed me the daily "The Sun" paper.
Shaite !! The Obama family dog aka The 1st Dog was named "Bo". Bo!! The reasoning behind that name was because the first lady's dad was called Didley in reference to "Bo" Didley. But to me that reason is lame. You got a whole universe of names to select from and the best you can come up is Bo? Don't get me wrong. Bo is a marvellous name. Strong, powerful yet just right for all the right reasons.
"Bo" was apparently a gift from Sen. Edward M. Kennedy who himself owns a few Portuguese Water dogs or Labradoodle.
Obama kept his campaign promise to his two daughters Malia & Sasha that they will get a puppy when he wins the election.
Well, I can take solace from this new story that after this "Bo" will be known as the top dog for years to come..hehe
The Fast and Furious franchise vrooms onto the our cinemas again, after having vroomed off after a sub-standard Fast & Furious 3; Tokyo Drift installation.
The original king of the streets, Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel), who created a cult following from the first The Fast and Furious. Vin turned his back on the next 2 installments (2Fast 2Furious and Tokyo Drift). The franchise lost its zing and Torreto was never be heard again. So, naturally, the two had to get together again and create grease lightnin' once more.
But Dom doesn't return alone. In comes his nemesis too, FBI agent Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) who infiltrated ex-con Dom's gang in the first film, only to betray him and his sister (Jordana Brewster). But Brian and Dom do share a special bond, despite being on opposite sides of the law. Remember how Brian let Dom go in the first film. It's the same love-hate relationship that forms the crux of the fourth sequel, where both are in for a roller-coaster ride that sees them criss-crossing across unfriendly terrain in their shining machines.
While Dom wants to avenge the death of his girl friend (Michelle Roderiguez), Brian is in hot pursuit of a drug lord, Antonio Braga, who smuggles car loads of heroin across the Mexican border under the guise of street car racing.
At the start of the film, you would notice that Hahn from the The Tokyo Drift chapter would make an appearance. For those who still remember, he burned and died in Tokyo. So, I leave it to you guys to think about it. Did he really came back from the grave?
While my vote would still stand for the first film, the fourth is definitely better than part two and three. Its been awhile a movie really revved me up and also get me thinking of modifying my all standard cruiser. But beyond the horsepower, there is the enigmatic characterisation of Vin Diesel as the good-bad Dom, who keeps you guessing about his ethics till the very end. Get your testosterone kick.
Film: Fast and Furious 4 (Action)
Cast: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster Direction: Justin Lin Duration: 1 hour 47 minutes
Finally, my hunt for a new job came to an end 2 days ago. I am gonna leave a certain MNC that helps us in polluting mother earth and uses something that we can find on the beach as its logo.
My new paymaster is a new company associated with a certain local no frills airline. They are just getting their feet wet in the cellular industry. For me personally, it is a fresh start and an opportunity to gain experience and marketable skills. The pay is okay to. Mind you that I am getting married in July. This year!
Back to the day of my interview. It was kinda funny though. A whole string of mishaps on that day dumbfounded me a bit. Yet I got the job. Alhamdulillah.
It started off with me going to the wrong building. Mind you that I was using my GPS from my phone in finding this place, yet I got lost. Doofus. Yup. Me = Doofus.
Then, by the time I realised I made that boo-boo, it was already 10 minutes before the interview. I was running back to my car.
Now. I am sweating from the running. Kesah habis (KEtiak baSAH = kesah)
I was now speeding to the place. Then, I realised that the building was only besides the futsal place the guys from office play at every friday. In that instant, I now dont have an excuse of not joining my soon to be ex officemates for FridayFutsal sessions. Nevermind. I got an interview to go to.
I arrived at the place. Now 15 minutes late.
I was buzzed in. Given a perli baik punya by the HR guy "ingatkan tak datang tadi", he said. I shrugged it off and just gave a half hearted smile.
Well, after filling in the usual forms for interviews, the interview started.
The panel that were there to grill me was the CFO and the HR guy. But, surprise surprise. The CEO of the company conveniently just stepped in and joined in the session. Damn.
The interview lasted for about an hour and then as usual it ended with "we'll call you in a couple of days".
I thought I blew my chance. I was late + sweating + nervous = disaster interview.
Then, when I came back to my car, the futsal place owners stuck a big "NO PARKING, PRIVATE PROPERTY" sticker on my car's windscreen. It was stuck there real good. I tried to get most of it off, but no use. What to do. I drove off.
Then a call came in. "Affendi, we are hiring you. Come and get your offer letter tomorrow." I remembered just replying, "thank you".
I was grinning like a fool the whole journey back...hehehe..
Before you guys say "geez, this is what we need. another chick flick". Well, IT IS another chick flick. But after a long week at the office, watching a no brainer of a movie do wonders to your stress levels.
Based on the books "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan" by Sophie Kinsella. Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) is a 25 year old who lives with her best friend Suze (Krysten Ritter) in Suze's flat (paying her friend rent that is well below market value), in a trendy part of town. Rebecca has a very boring job writing for a financial magazine. She has a shopping addiction and her crap job doesn't pay enough.
Her bills are piling up, so she tries cutting back (complete fiasco), then she tries making more money (another fiasco).
Eventually, Becky discovers a story that she is truly invested in. Exposing the story gets the attention of a colleague that she hasn't quite figured out yet. Some drama ensues as she snags the guy, and she attempts to pay off her ever-growing debt.
For those who have been living under a rock this past decade and wondering who Isla Fisher is, she is currently Borat's (aka Sacha Baron Cohen) main squeeze. Very nice. She was also in the the WeddingCrashers as the girl that was madly in love with Vince Vaughn's character.
Back to the movie, it is good watch. A good way to get away from the hectic world of the office.
Guys, this is also a good movie that you should bring your partners to. Show em' the dark side of shopping..hahaha... Film: Confessions of a Shopaholic (Comedy Romance)
Cast: Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy, Krysten Ritter, Joan Cusacy, John Goodman Direction: P.J. Hogan Duration: 64 minutes
I will be the first to say that I'm not an avid follower of comics, manga or anime. But I do follow enough of it to know that the Dragon Ball series ranks high on the list of comic readers.
I went to watch Dragon Ball Evolution a couple of weeks back upon the insistence of my better half. She said that she is curious whether the movie can deliver the great Dragon Ball legacy. It did not!
I came across one review that best described the movie.
This was quoted from www.animenewsnetwork.com "a bunch of talentless hacks with studio money slapped together a big steaming pile of baffling garbage that fails utterly on every possible level and will please no one at all".
So, with that quote from what I think is a respectible site for anime/comic/manga, I wont review further.

I was blog stalking and came across a very cute Youtube video on Rozie's blog. It shows a girl belting out a Anuar Zain number. The thing that makes this video cute is this little girl's hand gestures and face mimics.
Well, I'll just let you guys take a look for yourselves. Feel free to leave a comment. Enjoy.
Also on 21st March was our good friend's Afnan's birthday. I was his best man at his wedding. So, just wanna say to him, "macam mana ni Nan? Kalah lagi United" hehehe....
Happy Birthday bro. May Allah always bless your life with rezeki and berkat. Amin.
21 st March 2009 around 2 pm at Shah Alam Medical Centre, saw our best friends Shahrul and Surini welcoming their little princess, baby Shania Amani bt Shahrul Izham.
She was a stunner and guessing from that statement, she got her looks from her mama...alhamdulillah. But, undeniably her nose is from Shahrul. Well, you win some, you lose some...hehehe. Whatever it is, "she is gorgeous" as Amru might say.
She came out a healthy 3.16 kgs and 54 cms long.
Shahrul jokingly said that they had to do the op due to her head following Shahrul's head size...(ikut kepala papa Shahrul lah kot).
Not forgetting to mention, the clan that came by to see baby Shania for the first time. There were Suraya & Razlan (plus Nana & Yaya..both are getting more gorgeous each time we see them), Wafi, Zul & Maz (minus Zareef & Zara...get well soon baby Zara), Fatihatul, Amru, Masri & Rozilawati and last but not least Faizal & Mas.
Well, here are a couple of pictures of Shania Amani that I grabbed from our friend's camera.
Shania all cuddled up... A picture of innocence...
For better pictures, please visit Amru's blog,http://amrufm.wordpress.com/. His pictures tells more than a million words (exaggerate sikit..heheh)
Nafkah zahir - tempat tinggal, makan minum .
S - Sunnatullah & Syaratullah
U - Uswah hasanah
A - Amanah
M - Matlamat
I - Istiqamah
Sama-sama kita mengambil pengajaran.

Last Saturday, was the darkest day in my life as a Man Utd fan. After the game, I prayed hard and begged for forgiveness from god for my past sins as I taught it might be the end of the world.
That's only way to explain this mauling at the hands of the Kop.
The Red Devils just basically had an off day & were very tired after a tiring battle against a tough Inter Milan side that really gave United a fight. Vidic even intentionally had himself sent off because of tiredness. Poor Vidic.
Whereas, Real Madrid rolled over for Liverpool in their Champs League tie & gave the Kop an easy 4-0 win. United scored first through a Ronaldo penalty after Park Ji Sung was viciously brought down by Reina. It was an obvious red card for Reina but the ref gave Liverpool a gift. Figures.
Then, Vidic due to tiredness gave Torres a clear path to Utd's goal before half time. Vidic just let the ball fall to Torres' feet to score. 1-1.
Start of the 2nd half, it was another gift to Liverpool by the ref. Clumsy Gerrard tripped himself up but as Evra was near by, so the ref judged Evra brought him down. 2 -1.
Then, Vidic got himself sent off (due to being tired) and Aurelio scored from the free kick. 3 -1.
Finally, Dossena scored after coming on as a substitute. This is when you know that this was a United gift to Liverpool. Maybe it was one of the Liverpool's player's birthday.
A battle was lost, but the war is still there to be won.
So, this Manchester United fan is not worried at all.
Last night saw the best football club on the planet, Manchester United kept the dream alive to sweep all in front of them by beating Inter Milan 2-0 in the return leg at Old Trafford. Goals from Vidic (4 mins) and Ronaldo (49 mins).
The tie got to a flying start with Vidic scroing in the 4th minute from a Giggs corner. Mourinho mentioned in an interview that he has watched 50 dvds of the Serbian's goals but it was a waste of time it seems as Vidic scored with an intelligent header to beat Julio Cesar at the far post.
United were guilty of showboating after the goal by giving the ball away with flicks, backheels and passes to empty spaces. This gave Inter a chance to crawl back into the tie.
Inter's front two of Ibra & Balotelli were guilty missing chances at the other hand.
Second half started like in the first. Utd in search of the 2nd goal and they succeeded with a Ronaldo header from a well worked move. Giggs turned back time with a mazy run and passed to Rooney who hit a peach of a cross for Ronaldo to head home from close range.
The Inter players started to show their frustration with tackles and physical contacts.
In the end, the score board showed United have come through their italian test and on the verge of creating history.
Babyshowers. The first thing that comes to mind is a group of moms and girlfriends getting together, exchanging stories, gossiping, having tea and crumpets (kat M'sia ada ke crumpets?) and exchanging gifts.
So, last Sunday, Shahrul had a babyshower for his expecting wife (due in 2 weeks) Surini. All the Shah Alam clan and other suspects converge at Shahrul's for this babyshower.
But I have a fishy feeling that it was just an excuse for our latest craze....CRANIUM!!! Jazdee didnt want me to team up with him for a silly reason.....because I have a blog. That's weak bro..weak.....hehehe.
When I told him that Zul also has a blog, he said "Zul punya lain, intellectual punya blog.."..then we laughed...wakakaka....
Well, boisanerd was grouped with Shahrul, Lukman, adik iya and Su. No prizes on guessing who were the champs...hehehe....
The whole babyshower affair was fun and it was a good excuse for the guys and gals to hang out, catchup and be closer aka merapatkan silaturrahim...
Last note, wishing and praying for the safe arrival of Shahrul's and Surini's princess and also for Surini's having her delivery safe and smoothly.
Mazlan & DeannaSu & Anidz Food.....nyam nyam....uurrpp Makan dulu... Jazdee baru sampai.... Kak Long & Su.... Zul, Maz, Su & Shahrul... The real reason for the babyshower...hahahaha.... Camel? Cow? Ostrich? laaaa.....peacock rupanya....apa daaa... Baby's first handphone.....she got 2 some more... The WHOLE CLAN.........say cheese everybody!!!!!!
Never have I seen as many people walk out of a movie as I saw during a Saturday showing of “Watchmen.”
The dude that sat beside me I think slept halfway the movie (well..I heard him snoring). A couple in front of me kept asking each other whats going on, who is who and whether to walk out and why is that man blue and was this scene happening now or did these events happen in the past and, holy crap, why are we now on Mars; eventually, they gave up and laughed their way through the exit doors. (And they were not shooshed.)
My fiancee, shifted uncomfortably with every splatter of brain; she sank lower into her seat at the arrival of a nude Dr. Manhattan’s fully exposed Little Dr. Manhattan then insists (really insists) that we haul our asses out of cinema 7 rightly after the fairly explicit sex between Night Owl and Silk Spectre in the back of the Owl Mobile – or whatever it’s called. (The movie is rated 18SX.)
It’s hard to say exactly when the trickle became an exodus – but maybe a quarter of the theater walked.
Indeed, it appears this phenomenon is not unique to our showing at One Utama, but also other cinemas in Klang Valley.
I just felt that it was a just waste of a perfect Saturday evening..and also 20 bucks...down the drain I tell you....shiisshh
But, I think I wont mind taking another showing of the movie, but this time I should go alone. It is indeed an intriguing movie. Your mind is active from start til end.
So did you notice an unusual number of walkouts at your screening? Or was the audience riveted? Howling in laughter? Snickering? Or stone silent and still, wrapped up in the story? Let me know.
This is one of the most talked about fish curry head @ kari kepala ikan places in KL. It is located smack right in the middle of metropolitan KL at Jalan Kampung Attap, under a few trees next to its original restaurant.
Seeing the crowd there, you know you're in the right place to satisfy your kari kepala ikan cravings.
Parking spots would be limited but when you got the munchies for good curry head fish, a man will do what a men gotta do. Trust me.
There were 9 of us. We started ordering the usual....drinks (my personal fav teh o ais limau @ ice lemon tea), white rice, honey fried chicken, chili bawang, squid curry and finally 2 curry head fish. Yup....2 heads!!!
While waiting for the food to come, I had a starter. Yep, these kinda places also have starters.
Starter...
Then, the food started coming,
Here is a close up of the fish head before it being devoured by 9 hungry guys,
Second head,
The squid curry is also a must have. I recommend it. Alang2 nak makan kepala ikan.
Squid curry
The other food compliments the fish head & squid curry very well.
Cili Bawang @ Green Chilies and Onions Mix
Cili bawang. Its mixture of green chillies, onions, soy sauce and lime. It makes the experience more enjoyable.
Ayam Goreng Madu @ Honey Fried Chicken
Finally, whats left of the curry head,
You dont need to go for the "makan berhidang" style like we did, you can choose to have it the
nasi campur style.
Whatever style you want to have it, you'll be promised a lasting dining experience.
Another thing to add, toss away the spoon and fork. Go in with both hands. More kick to it. Believe me. But just be prepared having your hands smelling of curry for the next couple of days. I take it as a momento of a wonderful dining experience. Hmm...nice.
The price if you're having the curry fish head would be a little expensive. But RM 25 (approx.) for 2 persons serving I think is reasonable.
Give it a shot and lemme know you're own experience.
